The information was released in the World Bank (WB) report on business environment in 2017.
Accordingly, the direct clearance at Viet Nam’s border gates for exports decreased by three hours; imports decreased by six hours. The cost of customs clearance at the port of entry for a shipment is reduced by US$19.
The achievement has reflected the Government’s efforts in reforming administrative procedures in cross-border trade activities.
The report also says that in the past two years (2016- 2017), Viet Nam has always maintained its position in the top four countries with the index of cross-border trade in ASEAN.
The results of National Single Window (NSW), ASEAN Single Window (ASW) and trade facilitation, have contributed to the transformation of specialized management of import and export goods, contributing to the reduction of customs clearance time.
Since November 2014, there were 53 administrative procedures in 11 ministries and sectors connected to NSW. As of July 15, 2018, as many as 1.34 million procedures from 22,800 businesses have been processed through the NSW.
All customs procedures in the Ministry of Finance have been connected to the NSW and automated with 99.65% of participated enterprises at 100% of customs agencies nationwide.
From January 1, 2018, Viet Nam is one of the first five countries in the ASW, alongside Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. By July 15, the total number of C/O received and sent from Viet Nam to the four countries is 48,000 C/O.
