PM Phuc made the above remark during his reception for Bernd Lange, Chairman of the European Parliament's International Trade Committee (INTA), in Ha Noi on July 26.
The Government leader said he has directed ministries and sectors of Viet Nam to work closely with the INTA delegation in dealing with the existing problems, facilitating Viet Nam-EU trade cooperation measures, and promptly signing the EVFTA.
He expressed his delight at the fine relations between Viet Nam and the EU over the past few years, especially in trade and investment domains, noting that EU companies are doing effective business in Viet Nam.
For his part, Bernd Lange expressed his belief the EVFTA will give a boost to investment activities and growth for both sides, while urging their authorized agencies to accelerate the finalization of the EVFTA’s documents, towards officially signing the deal by the end of this year.
He stressed the need to boost communications to raise businesses’ awareness of the opportunities and benefits that the free trade agreement will bring about, so that the two sides’ enterprises could work out proactive measures to participate in.
Agreeing with the guest's proposals, PM Phuc affirmed that Viet Nam always wishes to further enhance its friendly relations with the EU.
Along with the EU-Viet Nam Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Partnership and Cooperation (PCA), which has already been put into force, the signing of the EVFTA in the coming time would mark an important milestone as it would help lift bilateral ties to new heights, the leader said.
